Over 30 years of experience in the industry, in R&D management and general management positions in knowledge-intensive companies in the fields of electro-optics, security and medical applications, and others. Among other things, he managed an advanced IR (infrared) detector plant jointly owned by El-Op and Rafael, now part of SCD, one of the leaders in the field of advanced IR detectors; was the R&D manager in LUZ Company, pioneers in the use of solar energy to generate electricity; was the R&D manager on Sharplan Company, one of the leaders in the field of lasers for medical applications. She later joined Lumenis. In his most recent role, he was the development director and CEO of Ioptima, which developed and marketed an infrared laser-based system for glaucoma treatment. In recent years, he served as a consultant to an application company, a subsidiary of the Hebrew University that deals with the application and commercialization of knowledge assets developed at the Hebrew University. Holds a bachelor’s degree, masters, and a Ph.D. in Physics from the Hebrew University (1980). Postdoctoral and after that a faculty member at – Bell Laboratories in the United States (1980-1983).
