A physician, graduated Tel Aviv University medical school. Holds also a degree in medical administration and health system administration from Tel Aviv University.
From 1993 to 2000, he served as head of medical administration at the Ministry of Health
and was a member of the limited team for drafting the Israeli National Health Law. From 2000 to 2006, he served as Deputy General Manager and Director of Medicine at the Ministry of Health. From 2006 to 2017, he served as the general manager of the Wolfson Medical Center in Holon. In 1995 he received the Director General's Award from the Ministry of Health, and in 2012
he was awarded the title of "Esteemed Civil Service".
Dr. Berlowitz is chairman and member of various nonprofits, including:
Chairman of the National Council for Home and Safety, Chairman of the Association for Hemophilia Patients, Chairman of the Association for Brain Cancer Patients and a member of the Board
of Directors of the Association for Patient Rights.
